Innovation Studio is the area in which PIE takes the next step: moving from building a culture and mindset of innovation to the practical creation of value from ideas, research, technologies and intellectual property. It is dedicated to students and teams ready to take a project to the next level: validate its potential, develop and leverage its intellectual property, explore its applications and market opportunities and, where the right conditions exist, turn it into a new entrepreneurial venture or a startup.
Access to Innovation Studio is by invitation. An invitation does not certify that a project is already mature or that it must necessarily become a startup; rather, it recognises that the team has reached the right stage to explore its value-creation potential in practical terms. Invitations may be proposed by researchers who identify promising projects, technologies or teams, or may arise from IDEAS Meetups. Innovation Managers attending these events can get to know the teams and their projects, and invite them to a dedicated discussion to jointly assess access to Innovation Studio.
0>1 Labs can also provide a bridge to Innovation Studio: projects and teams that demonstrate sufficient maturity and potential during the programme may be invited to continue their development within Innovation Studio.
This is where PIE moves from learning how to innovate to creating value through innovation, supporting the most promising projects in leveraging knowledge and intellectual property and, where appropriate, creating new entrepreneurial ventures.
