Description
Today, designing the built means to be able to acquire a reading, the widest possible, of all the issues that involve today the process of preservation and enhancement of the existing that involves new and varied professionalism, tools and methodologies in continuous evolution. The Master makes use of the collaboration of the Unesco Chair - Planning and architectural protection in the World Heritage cities, active at the Polo of Mantova. The attention, however, will not be turned only to buildings historically attested and recognized, but also and above all to that building "of margin" in abandonment to which today we turn with greater attention as the industrial, handicraft and agricultural one. The Master will be structured in six modules that will deal with the themes that involve the process of valorization of the existing: a) CULTURE OF THE PROJECT, ANALYSIS AND HISTORICAL APPROACH; b) DETECTION, REPRESENTATION, INFORMATIZATION; c)RULES AND PROCEDURES OF AUTHORIZATION; d) VULNERABILITY; e) TECHNIQUES, PRODUCTS, PLANTS AND COMPANIES; f) PROJECT AND BUILDING SITE.Educational project
The master aims to deepen, both from the theoretical point of view and in real professional practice, the complex issues of the project of conservation and enhancement of built heritage, with particular attention to the inevitable relationship / contribution of the new in its various forms (from plants to architecture) as an active support to the issues of use. A heritage for which the development of the project is constantly becoming more and more conditioned by rules and procedures, by technological development, by the needs related to sustainability, containment, efficiency and energy saving, by those that invest the issues of seismic and structural vulnerability, by the protections to be put in place, by the inevitable contamination between the new and the existing. The master is therefore aimed at recent graduates and graduates, already active in the professional activity, who feel a strong need to deepen issues never sufficiently addressed and studied, often complex, the result of fragmented information and fragmentary far from readings and visions of the whole today essential to approach, investigate and develop the project for the existing architecture. A project to be built and dedicated not only to buildings historically attested and recognized, but also and above all to that "marginal" building in abandonment to which today we turn with greater attention such as industrial, craft and agricultural. A building that already occupies precious land, that has already established a close relationship with the city and the territory, that has been waiting for a long time for redemption and new use. Today, designing the built environment means being able to acquire a reading, as broad as possible, of all the issues that involve today the process of enhancing the existing that necessarily involves new and varied professionalism, tools and methodologies in continuous evolution. Knowledge, method, tools, interdisciplinarity, environment, matter, structure, form, standard, protection are key words that make up the complexity of the project dedicated to the built environment.Requirements
The course is aimed at candidates who have a Laurea Vecchio Ordinamento (equivalent to Master of Sciende, awarded in the old educational system) or a Laurea Specialistica /Magistrale N.O.
