Description
"Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important in all organisations due to the ever- growing digitisation of activities in a globally hyperconnected world. The spread of ICT has dramatically increased the risks of loss of data confidentiality, integrity and availability, with potentially enormous financial impacts (and sometimes jeopardising the survival of organisations themselves). Covid-19 (and the resulting lockdown, which imposed widespread use of home/smart working) has also clearly shown that business organisations, public administrations and end users are often unaware of the risks (or, in any case, unable to manage them adequately). In fact, the number of cases of hacking and fraud during the Covid-19 emergency has increased significantly. Therefore, companies have realised that they need to strengthen this area by acquiring new skills and abilities to protect their business from cyber risks. The Master's programme will prepare students for leadership roles that strengthen organisations by understanding cybersecurity risks, possible business impacts and possible countermeasures, with important insights into governance, compliance and regulatory issues. Students will develop key management skills to develop a corporate cybersecurity plan. "
Educational project
"The Master in Cybersecurity Management, in collaboration with VIT Bhopal University in India, is aimed at students with a scientific and engineering background, with a maximum of 3 years of experience. In order to be admitted to the program, students must demonstrate a technical background (B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science, IT, or related areas, including Cyber Security, AI, Data Science, etc.), BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), B.Sc. in Computer Science or IT (with sufficient credits in subjects related to Computer Science), Postgraduate Diploma in IT, Cyber Security, or related fields (assessment will be made on a case-by-case basis). The Master's program will prepare students for leadership roles to strengthen organizations by understanding cybersecurity risks, possible business impacts, and possible countermeasures, with important insights into governance, compliance, and regulatory issues. Through experiential learning, case study analysis, and illustration of key security technologies taught by expert faculty, students will develop management skills that are key to developing a corporate cybersecurity plan. Students will spend the first semester in India at VIT Bhopal and the second in Milan at POLIMI GSoM. "
