Life on Campus | People and places
The exhibition Life on Campus is a journey through university life at Politecnico di Milano from 1945 to 2025. Eighty years cannot be recounted solely through dates: they are recognised in the places that
transform alongside those who inhabit them, in the stories of the community that studies and works there, in the objects that become memories. Life on Campus is a journey through the daily history of Politecnico, from the post-war period to the present day. It is a way of looking at the university not only as a place where you learn, but as a constantly evolving human, social and cultural ecosystem.
Five thematic sections guide the public: Polimi Tour, which recounts the campus spaces; In&Out, dedicated to the international movements of students and ideas; Community Tales, on the stories of the Politecnico community; Lifestyle, a visual overview of style and customs; and finally Public Engagement, documenting the public role of Politecnico through events, celebrations and activities shared with the citizens.
Through photographs, drawings, postcards, everyday objects and archival materials, Life on Campus is a collective tale: a tribute to the Politecnico community, its metamorphoses and its ability to build the future, day after day, place after place, person after person.
