Discharging OFA obligations
To demonstrate their knowledge of the English language for the purpose of discharging their OFA obligations for English, students of the Building Engineering-architecture Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) study programme must submit to the Registrar’s Office one of the following certifications, provided they have obtained at least the minimum level indicated below:
* Politecnico di Milano does not accept certifications deemed to be expired by the issuing body.

Students who have taken the test at an institute that sends the result to the Politecnico di Milano electronically do not need to submit an original copy of the certificate.
Tests at at an external institute
As an alternative to international certifications to discharge OFA obligations for English, it is possible to sit special tests at institutes outside the Politecnico. These tests, reserved for Politecnico students, do not entitle students to a certification, but only allow them to discharge their OFA obligations for English.
Graduation
For the purpose of obtaining a Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science), Building Engineering-Architecture students must submit one of the following certifications (submitting said certifications also discharges their OFA obligations for English).
International certifications are accepted regardless of the year of achievement.

TOEFL CERTIFICATE (TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE)
For registration procedure, please follow the instructions on the Web site of the Institution: EAS Web site – TOEFL Web site. If you would like to know the convention programme with the Politecnico di ilano, download the EAS TOEFL iBT Programme. The convention provides a 10% discount on courses in preparation for the TOEFL IBT.

The information about the Institution Code of the University of origin (for Politecnico di Milano it is: 9795) is useful for automatic transmission of certificate to the University. At the enrollment, the candidate can choose whether to take the test on-site or remotely:
Internet Based Test: listening | reading | speaking | writing
After about 6/8 from the exam, the result will appear on the candidate's online profile and will be immediately available in digital format. After about two weeks from the carrying out of test, the Institution concerned sends to the student address the certificate of the score obtained in the test; If the student has indicated the identification code of the University of origin (for Politecnico di Milano the Institution Code is: 9795), it forwards to Politecnico di Milano the official certificate; otherwise, the student must request to the Institution concerned to forward the official certification to Politecnico di Milano, following the instructions available in his/her online profile. After receiving the official certification, the Registrar's Office will be able to register the test result in the student's career.

TOEIC CERTIFICATE (TEST OF ENGLISH FOR INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION)
The Certificate issued has the title "Listening and Reading - OFFICIAL or INSTITUTIONAL SCORE REPORT"; it shows the candidate's name, the date of birth, the Test date, the Listening score, the Reading score and the Total Score.
