Degree courses taught in English 

To access degree programs taught in English, you must demonstrate knowledge of the English language before enrolling.

You can fulfil the language requirement if you have:

  • citizenship of a country where English is the official language;
  • an educational qualification, at least upper secondary level, obtained in English;
  • an appropriate English language certification as specified below

*Politecnico di Milano does not accept certifications considered expired by the issuing institution.

Students who have taken the test at an institute that sends the result to the Politecnico di Milano electronically do not need to submit an original copy of the certificate.

Knowledge of Italian 

Proficiency in Italian is not an entry requirement, but you will need to obtain a B2 level in Italian before completing your Bachelor of Science programme.
You can demonstrate proficiency in the Italian language if you: 

  • take a TOL or TOLC-I with a score of at least 30/100;
  • are a citizen of either Italy or the Republic of San Marino or the Swiss Canton of Ticino;
  • have a qualification, at least upper secondary school level, obtained in Italian. 

If you do not demonstrate proficiency in Italian, you will be assigned the OFA (additional educational obligation) for Italian. 

You will be enrolled with Italian OFA additional educational obligations and you must certify that you know the language before sitting the graduation exam and completing their studies.
