PROXIMA  

PROXIMA S.r.l. is a startup and spin-off of Politecnico di Milano that develops an innovative modular hybrid architecture system designed to make buildings more flexible, adaptive, and upgradable over time. At the heart of the solution is the Tecnomodulo, a patented technological module that integrates building systems, components, and sensors and can be inserted, replaced, or reconfigured within a long-lasting building structure.
PROXIMA manages the production of the Tecnomodulo through industrial partners and its commercialization, while also providing consulting services to designers and construction industry operators for the integration and use of the system in different design contexts.
The aim is to foster the industrialization and innovation of the construction process, reducing time, costs, and environmental impact while enabling buildings to adapt more easily throughout their life cycle to new functional and technological requirements.

PROXIMA received funding in 2024 under the BOOSTech – PNRR programme, which supported the development of the prototype (TRL 6). The prototyping and development of the Tecnomodulo were carried out through collaboration with a network of strategic partners supporting researchers at Politecnico di Milano: Siemens, Gewiss, Valsir, Progress, Sanika, Consorzio CREA, ENERGA Engineering, and Studio JDP.
In 2025, PROXIMA won first prize in the “Sustainable and Safe Construction” competition, promoted by Regione Lombardia and MUSA, for its contribution to innovation, sustainability, and the industrialization of the construction sector.
In 2026, the PROXIMA Tecnomodulo was selected as the technological and construction solution for a new residential building project in Milan (ADAPTA Project).
