The application for a Laurea Magistrale Programme (equivalent to a MSc degree) requires only a few steps. You can apply once per semester for up to two Master of Science programmes at the same time (1st and 2nd choice); if you are admitted to both of them you will be asked to accept the study programme you prefer. Applicants of Architecture and Design will have their second choice evaluated only if not admitted to their first choice. Therefore, please select your programme of preference as your first choice.
A. REGISTER online
You need to register online in order to obtain the credentials (personal code and password) to access the online application form.
Each user can have only one personal code. If you have already applied in the past you should make sure that you start a new application using the same personal code that you already have. We strongly recommend applicants to avoid the creation of different personal codes in order to apply more than once. The International Admissions Office will make sure that no user completes more than one application per year using different personal codes. Such applications will be invalidated, even in case of admission.
If you do not remember your password please go to the Online Services > Credentials Recovery (you can switch to English language by clicking on the button on the top right side of the webpage). Write your personal code and the e-mail address that you used to register to the online services; eventually you will receive an e-mail that will allow you to choose a new password.
If you do not remember your personal code, you can find it in your registration receipt or in the confirmation e-mail that you received at the end of your registration to the Online Services. If you still cannot find it, please follow the directions available here: Online Services > Credentials Recovery (you will have to fill out a form and send it to the relevant office together with a copy of your identity document).
B. APPLY online
The online application consists of 6 STEPS:

When you apply online, please make sure that you have all the required PDF documents ready to be upload. As soon as your online application is complete with all the required PDF documents, you must send your original transcripts by post (except applicants from countries where the direct transcripts transfer is required).
The evaluation of the candidatures received starts after your original transcripts are received by post and upon verification of the complete upload of your PDF documents, even before the deadline of the call. The International Admissions Office will process complete applications upon reception of the original academic transcrips on a first come first served basis. Therefore the sooner you complete your online application (with all the required PDF documents uploaded) and provide your original transcripts by post, the sooner the International Admissions Office will start the evaluation of your candidature.
Please avoid last minute applications.
It is your responsibility to make sure that whatever is uploaded online within your personal profile is valid and acceptable.
The International Admissions Office accepts documents in Italian, English, French or Spanish. A certified translation into Italian or English of the academic transcripts, the university qualification and the course description, where the actual language is different, must be also provided together with the original version. After step 6, please SAVE your application, download, save and print out the PDF file of the application receipt from the box “Polimi Official Documents” within your account.
C. SEND by post
To the International Admissions Office:

- the original Academic Transcripts (a certified translation into Italian, English, French or Spanish must also be provided by post where the actual language is different)

When applying, please make sure that you collect all the documents in time and avoid last minute deliveries. The deadline to apply published on our website is the last day to receive your documents by post: this means that your documents must be at the International Admissions Office by that date. Therefore, when sending your documents please consider carefully how much time is needed to have them delivered to Milan. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Do not send supplementary documents by post. They won’t be taken into consideration. Any document received by the Politecnico di Milano will not be returned to the applicant.
We advise you to send your documents with an express courier service so that you can track online the shipping. As soon as the International Admissions Office opens your envelope you will be informed through the message system on your profile.

In order to start the evaluation process, you must upload all the documents required and make sure that your original academic transcripts are received by the International Admission Office within the deadline. Incomplete applications (i.e. missing/not valid documents, no matter if online/sent by post) will be automatically rejected. The International Admissions Office will consider your application only if your transcripts are received by the deadline and if your online application is complete.
Please note that Politecnico di Milano does NOT require any Application FEE neither to our Laurea Magistrale programmes nor to any kind of scholarship. All applications’ procedures have no fees. Only once you are admitted, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable "Administrative FEE" of about 200.00 €, a mandatory regional and administrative tax which you have to pay in advance to confirm your admittance (scholarship recipients included). It will be deducted from the 2nd installment of your tuition fees.
It is very important that each applicant PERSONALLY accesses the Online Service with her/his student identification number (person code) and password to check the status of his/her application and the communications sent by the International Admissions Office.
Moreover, admitted students MUST PERSONALLY contact the Italian Diplomatic Representative to provide them with the necessary documents and information. Not doing so could cause the rejection of your Visa.
