BSc in Communication Design

The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Communication Design aims to educate professionals capable of designing and managing visual and multimedia communication systems in both analogue and digital contexts. The programme integrates cultural, methodological, and technical–design competences specific to the field of design, with particular attention to the transformations introduced by digital technologies, new media, and artificial intelligence.

Graduates in Communication Design work as communication designers, professional figures able to develop coordinated, multi-platform communication projects. They may operate in the fields of editorial design, branding and corporate identity, packaging, web design, audiovisual communication, and the design of interactive interfaces and content, collaborating with companies, professional studios, public bodies, and institutions.

The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Communication Design provides education focused on the design of visual and multimedia communication, integrating cultural, methodological, and technical–design competences specific to the discipline with the study of digital languages and technologies.

The programme explores the fundamentals of visual representation, graphic design, typography, photography, and audiovisual communication, with particular attention to perceptual processes, colour systems, and the construction of visual messages. At the same time, it develops competences related to web design, multimedia and interactive communication, and the management of coordinated, multi-platform communication systems.

Upon completion of the programme, students acquire the tools necessary to address independently and critically the various phases of communication design projects, operating within professional contexts related to graphic design, branding, digital media, and contemporary communication.

Graduates in Communication Design may continue their education through master’s degree programmes, first-level master’s programmes, and specialised courses in the fields of design, visual and multimedia communication, web and interaction design, branding, and digital communication. Postgraduate education allows graduates to further develop design, theoretical, and technological competences, facilitating access to professional roles with greater responsibility as well as to research and innovation contexts.

From an employment perspective, graduates find professional opportunities in the fields of graphic and visual communication, branding and corporate identity, print and digital publishing, audiovisual and multimedia communication, web design, and the design of interactive interfaces and content. They may work as freelance professionals or within design studios, communication agencies, companies, public bodies, and cultural institutions, contributing to the design and management of communication systems in both analogue and digital contexts.
