UNIVERSITE GUSTAVE EIFFEL

In January 2020, the University Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (UPEM) merged with the French Institute for Sciences and Technologies of Transport, Planning and Networks (IFSTTAR) to become the University Gustave Eiffel. Since its creation (1991), UPEM has stood out for a culture of innovation, developing close collaborations both in terms of training and research with the business world, but also for having opted for an original type of internal organization. The UPEM headquarters are located in the Cité Descartes, in the city of Champs-sur-Marne, 15 km from Paris. It also has a campus in Meaux and another in Serris. The University pursues its missions by paying particular attention to two major objectives: professional integration aimed at qualification and the development of research of excellence. It has recognized research units participating in some of the doctoral schools developed by the Université Paris-Est. The research therefore develops a scientific strategy around two thematic poles: City and Environment & Engineering, on the one hand, and Health & Society on the other. Regarding student life, UPEM has several clubs and student associations in the fields of representation, sport and culture.
