Founded in 1873, Polytechnique de Montréal is one of the most important engineering schools of Canada. A scientific and technological centre of international level, with its 8200 students, of which 26% are women, is the largest university in Québec and carries out more than a quarter of the province's research activities. EPM provides education for more than 120 programmes of first and second level. Politecnico di Milano, since many years, has Erasmus and Double Degree bilateral agreements with this institution.

DOUBLE DEGREE EXTRA UE

This agreement is open between the Engineering Schools of Politecnico di Milano and Ecole Polytechnique de MontrealStructure of the double degree programmeOnce completed the 1st year of the LM at Politecnico di Milano, you will acquire the right to enrol at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal by choosing between two careers, thanks to the Double Degree agreement: Option 1 you enrol in the "maitrise cours" where you will take 60 ECTS (30 Canadian credits) of courses and 30 ECTS (15 Canadian credits) of research. Option 2 you enrol in the "maitrise recherche" where you will take 30 ECTS (15 Canadian credits) of courses and 60 ECTS (30 Canadian credits) of research.In total, you must take 45 Canadian credits (90 ECTS) with a stay of 20 to 24 months at the EPM. Before your departure, you must be assigned to an EMS department that will supervise your work and with which you can develop your research project. The credits obtained at the partner university are recognized as equivalent by the professor of reference for the international mobility of the study programme at Politecnico di Milano. Once you have finished your academic career at the partner university, you must come back to Politecnico di Milano and submit your graduation work. The final work is a personal work and it is produced under the supervision of two supervisors, one from Politecnico di Milano and one from the partner university, and it must be discussed in both institutions. At the end of this programme, you will obtain the LM degree from Politecnico di Milano and the Maitrise degree from EPM.
