Educational project
Are there codified formulas for the definition of a didactics of architecture, capable of responding to the demands of a renewed approach to learning and the contamination of knowledge?
We live in a historical phase in which the spheres of teaching and learning are the protagonists of constant reworkings and refinements aimed at accommodating the demands of the present and future times. What is at stake is the restoration of centrality to the role of the teacher as a figure of reference in the educational and training journey, within scenarios aimed at the reconfiguration of trades and professions.
Reflection on the universal criteria of education constitutes here the incipit of a debate aimed at exploring the high specificity of the teaching of the disciplines of architecture, founded on a balanced alchemy that concentrates scientific, humanistic and technical knowledge, as well as characterized by an unavoidable experiential-experimental approach. A maieutic learning that interprets the ideational, design, and construction dimensions as substantial and integrated elements of doing architecture. Methods and tools constitute the means and not the ends of an open educational world increasingly personalized to the individual.
The resulting discussion among some prestigious exponents of the main European schools of architecture intends to define a further fragment of debate useful to complete the picture of the most significant experiences in the field of didactics for architecture and its declinations. The architect as an intellectual figure requires a training that is both holistic and scientific, capable of merging the importance of a transversal research that forms an architect and, at the same time, endowed with knowledge of the art of constructing buildings and places (or environments) of tangible life, as well as sensitivity to measure, space, and harmony.
