Description

The new EU Regulation on Privacy, that also applies to companies located outside the European Union, introduces important innovations such as the right to be forgotten, the right to data portability, the accountability principle, the notifications of violations to users and national authorities (the so-called data breaches), simplified ways to access one s own personal data, the one-stop-shop mechanism and the concept of privacy by design. Besides the focus on the data protection issues, the Master also aims at strengthening the links between Universities and the job market, by creating professionals with competences ranging from law to management, from riskmanagement to process analysis, and whose main responsibilities are the organisation and the management of the treatment and protection of personal data within a public or private entity, so that these data are managed respecting European and national privacy legislation.

Educational project

The immediate objective of the course is to provide an overview of the legislation concerning data protection, following the entry into force of the new European Regulation 679/2016 superseding the Privacy Code (Leg. D. 196/2003). In this context, companies, public institutions and authorities will have to comply with the new legislation by either creating internally or hiring externally the position of the Data Protection Officer who, besides having knowledge of the norms and regulation of the sector, will have to ensure advanced knowledge of security and information systems.

Requirements

The Specializing Master is reserved for candidates with an old Italian university system degree, or a new Italian university system Degree. Architecture, Engineering (civil, construction, management), Legal Sciences, Political Science, Economics and Insurance Sciences, Economics and Commerce. Foreign candidates qualification equivalents will be considered in their respective university systems.
