
The Wroclaw University of Science and Technology WUST of today was founded and organized by researchers from Lviv and Warsaw. Since the beginning of its existence, it has been an important centre of technical education. Today, it is one of the best technical universities in Poland - 28 815 students study under the supervision of more than 2 000 university professors, in 16 Faculties in Wroclaw, Jelenia Góra, Legnica, Walbrzych. WrUST is an autonomous university, a university research institute. Its mission is to train its students and Ph.D. students in order to develop creative and critical thinking and tolerant persons, and to define directions for development of science and technology. At the service of the society, the university carries out its mission through its invention and innovation, the highest standards of scientific research, the sharing of knowledge, the high quality of education and the freedom of criticism with the respect of the truth. WUST has achieved considerable positions in the international rankings: in the 2017 Perspektywy University Ranking, it has been the most innovative Polish university, it has obtained the 4th place in the university general ranking and the 2nd place among the technical universities in Poland. Within the framework of the CWTS Leiden Ranking of 2017, it obtained the 2nd place among the Polish technical universities. Lastly, in the 2017 Best Global Universities ranking, it obtained the 3rd place among the Polish technical universities. It has the following faculties: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Geoengineering of Mining and Geology, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science and Management, Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Key Problems of Technology, Electronic and Photonic Microsystems, Pure and applied Mathematics, Technology and Natural Sciences, Technology and Computer Science and Technology and Engineering.
