AZERBAIJAN UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION

The exchange takes place between the five Master's Degree courses of the AUIC School of the Politecnico di Milano and the Architecture study courses of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. During your Double Degree training course, you will be supported in order to be able to develop a master's thesis in the field of Cultural Heritage Conservation and, specifically, architectural heritage. You will thus be able to specialize in the care of historical heritage, in the restoration and conservation of old and existing buildings, building complexes and historic centres. The topics addressed will also concern practical case studies of both the Azerbaijani and Italian architectural heritage. Articulation of the Double Degree programme The double degree is structured in 6 semesters (final thesis included) and allows students who complete the program to obtain the Master's Degree in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, and "Laurea Magistrale" from AzUAC. The sequence of semesters in which the program is structured includes 2 semesters to be carried out at POLIMI with the achievement of 60 credits in exams and 4 semesters at AzUAC attending courses and/or activities recognized for 120 credits including the thesis. The program foresees the elaboration of a single degree thesis, under the joint supervision of a Polimi professor and an AzUAC professor. The final thesis, produced in Italian and English, usually consists of an original project work and is presented and discussed in both universities.

The exchange takes place between the Bachelor Degree courses in Interior Design and Product Design of the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano and the courses in Design Program of the Faculty of Architecture of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. The promotion of the double degree program will include workshops activities in AZUAC The Politecnico di Milano will invite students (10-15 max) of the Bachelor of Science in Product Design or Interior Design to take part in activities such as international workshops organized in Baku with professors and students of AZUAC. The credits will be extra curricular for the second year of the Bachelor. The workshops organized during the double degree period in AZUAC will be fully recognized only for the students enrolled in the program. The period and the content of the workshop will be defined accordingly to the academic calendars and curriculum. Articulation of the Double Degree programme POLIMI students who have been awarded the high school diploma (13 years of education) and have been admitted to the Laurea Triennale in Design degli Interni or the Laurea Triennale in Design del Prodotto Industriale (Bachelor of science in Design) courses and have passed courses for 150 ECTS credits, are entitled to continue their curriculum in the 3rd year of Bachelor of Design in AZUAC University attending courses, recognized activities and prepare the thesis for a total of 60 ECTS credits, in such a way that the total number of credits awarded by AZUAC and POLIMI will be at least 210 ECTS. They shall produce a final thesis in English with abstract in ltalian, which shall be presented at both lnstitutions. Thereafter they shall be awarded the titles of "Bachelor of Science in Design" (Laurea Triennale in Design degli Interni or the Laurea Triennale in Design del Prodotto Industriale) at POLIMI and "Bachelor of Design" (Dizayn ixtisas, üzrə bakalavr dərəcəsi) at AZUAC.
