How
Students who enroll for the first time at the Politecnico di Milano for the 2026/2027 a.y. and declare within the stated time period that they belong to a family unit whose ISEE (Use of benefits for the right to university study) issued in 2026 doesn't exceed €30,000 have the right to a waiver according to Law 232/2016 as subsequently amended and supplemented. If the ISEE is less than €27,740, you are entitled to a reduction starting from the first instalment.
Attention: to determine the second instalment, you must submit an ISEE 2027.
To take advantage of the exemption, we suggest you to enter, as soon as possible, within the Online Services (Data > University fees > ISEE), the subscription date of the Single Self-Declaration, or the document that submits to the INPS to request the ISEE calculation. The Single Self-Declaration is the document you submit to INPS to request the calculation of your ISEE.
Submission of the 2027 ISEE is required if you wish to apply for any exemption and for the income-based calculation of both the all-inclusive contribution and the regional tax.
Procedure: access the Online Services (Data > University fees and economic benefits > ISEE certificate) and insert the subscription date of the Single Self-Declaration (the document that the student has submitted to the INPS to request the calculation of the ISEE).
Notes:
- ISEE used for University and referred to the Student's Fiscal code with the related Single Self-declaration not related to the year 2027 and therefore submitted before the 1st of January 2027, are not valid
- The following categories of students are not required to submit an ISEE dated 2027 for the purpose of determining the second instalment amount and/or the regional tax bracket:
- scholarship candidates/recipients for the Right to Higher Education enrolled to years following the first one of Laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) Study Programme and Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Study Programme and Single Cycle Laurea Magistrale Study Programme
- non-EU international students, as to say not equivalent to Italian students with first-level qualification obtained abroad, enrolled in Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Study Programmes
Through PagoPA system:
Payment must be made exclusively through the PagoPA system.
Log in to Online Services > Tuition fees and financial aid > Latest unpaid request and click on “Pay via PagoPA” to choose between:
“National PagoPA system”, which offers the following options:
PAY ONLINE: select a payment method from “credit or debit card”, “bank account”, or “Apps and other methods”
or
PAY LATER: download the IUV payment notice and pay through any PagoPA payment service provider; for payments via the CBILL network, use the interbank code F9489.“Smart Pay pagoPA”: click on “PagoPA payment notices” and enter the required details (Politecnico tax code and payment notice code), or scan the QR code provided on the previously downloaded IUV payment notice.
Make sure that the processing times associated with the different payment methods do not result in the payment deadline being missed. After making the payment, you do not need to submit any documents to the Student Administration Office. You can check that the payment has been recorded under Online Services > Data > Tuition fees and financial aid > Payment history.
Notes:
- Payment of the second instalment constitutes acceptance of the assigned contribution bracket; once payment has been made, it will no longer be possible to request a reduction in the assigned bracket.
- For amounts below €12.00, the payment notice will not be available; these amounts will automatically be charged with subsequent payments.
- Payment of the first and second instalments in multiple instalments is not available; you may use external payment services that offer this option.
Access the Online Services (Data > Application for exemption from the all-inclusive contribution) within the mandatory deadlines for exemption categories envisaged 1 to 5; for categories 6, 7, 8 and 9, the exemption is granted automatically.
In case of submission of multiple exemption applications, only the economically most advantageous one will be granted to the student.
Please note: the exemption for the Internal Double Degree, granted automatically, may be combined with the merit-based exemption (category 1), for which an application must instead be submitted.

Failure to comply with the administrative deadlines will result in an additional charge, in particular for:
- payment of instalments, calculated according to the delay in payment: after deadline and up to 30 days of delay €50.00; from 31 days to 60 days of delay €80.00; from 61 days and over €110.00
- submission of ISEE declaration on the Online Services: €200.00
- submission of Study Plan: €100.00
If you register your 2027 ISEE after the applicable deadline, but by 31 December 2027, it will be taken into account for the purpose of determining your income bracket, and the applicable surcharge will be charged. Surcharges are charged with the first payment due after the delay.
If you register your 2027 ISEE after the second instalment has been issued, contact the Registrar’s Office to request a recalculated payment notice.
Please note: without a valid ISEE and, in any case, after payment of the second instalment, no reduction of the all-inclusive contribution paid is granted.
