Descrizione dell'iniziativa

The proposed program is an innovative educational path aimed at capable, competent and highly motivated young talents in relation to the problems of sustainable development. Students are selected on the basis of their curriculum vitae, academic career and a motivational letter. The program alternates moments of individual learning, linked to MOOCs courses, with seminars through listening and learning from experience as well as opportunities for proactivity such as peer education activities in schools. At the same time, a group activity of a planning nature is also planned. The passion in action program proposed here expands the cohort of students involved in educational paths related to sustainable development activated with the "Engineering for Sustainable Development" HONORS PROGRAM, active since 2015 for the Master's Degree Courses of the Schools of Industrial Engineering and the Information and Civil, Environmental and Territorial Engineering and for the engineering study courses of the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering. The educational path includes 4 distinctive elements:

  • Use of the MOOC on the POK platform of the Politecnico di Milano: Higher Education for Sustainable Development Goals (about 50 hours) and introduction to Global Citizenship Education (4 hours)
  • Participation in seminar-type training activities with internal, national or international experts on sustainable development issues for a total of approximately 16 hours of seminar. Experts from some Non Governmental Organizations members of Colomba will participate (Acra, Aspem, Cast, Cesvi, Guardavanti, Manitese, Medicus Mundi, Project for People, We World). The seminars will include training lessons on sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda.
  • Proactive participation for a total of hours equivalent to about 65 hours in research and dissemination activities on education for sustainable development. In particular, children can be involved in various activities, such as
  • Sustainability education for middle and high school students,
  • Awareness campaigns for young people in relation to International Cooperation.
  • Participation in seminars on communication issues in the field of international cooperation and on relations with institutions (8 hours).
Thanks to the participation in the cycle of conferences, students will be exposed to a wide variety of topics and interlocutors; this will have positive effects on the training of young talents with a particular sensitivity towards Sustainable Development.
