Description
The main training objective of the Executive Master in Public Management concerns the development of skills to understand and interpret in an integrated way both the drives for organizational and management evolution and the complex period of institutional transition underway, beyond the individual provisions . The commitment undertaken is to create training modules to grasp the key aspects of the role of public management in multilevel governance processes, which are reflected in the analytical, behavioral and technical skills to support the design, implementation and evaluation of policies, as well as in the management of the structures. The ability to operate in non-hierarchical policy processes but characterized by a strong interdependence, where the ability to develop synergies and complementarities count, evaluating and promoting an orientation towards the effectiveness of interventions, constitutes the focus of the proposal. Furthermore, the attention to the transformations induced by new information technologies and their derivatives constitutes a qualifying attribute of the Master. This plan includes an in-depth study of public ethical issues, which raises issues such as the relationship between solidarity and competition, between equity and efficiency, between equal treatment and positive discrimination, between responsiveness and responsibility.
Educational project
In today's world, companies and the general public alike expect the former to contribute to their country's wealth and ensure the provision of high quality services. In line with this objective, public structures must be able to innovate and improve the services they offer, and know how to make difficult decisions about the priorities to retain and the services to discontinue because of the tighter financial situation within Italy. This entails injecting a new stimulus into the processes of renewing management models. These aspects have become increasingly more important with the novelties brought about by the changes to public sector management, in terms of its decentralisation or move towards federalism.
Requirements
The Master is open to candidates with a Master of Science. Equivalent foreign qualifications in their respective University Systems will be considered valid.
