Descrizione dell'iniziativa

DesignMind proposes the 2025 edition of the immersive campus, hosted by Costa Arente, is titled "Dancing on Boundaries. Transformation, Kindness, Balance," words that will guide the work and collaboration with this beautiful reality in the Veronese Hills. DesignMind includes moments of lecture and work mixed with formal and informal meetings with professionals who accompany the student on a journey through the issues of design, those that are practical and everyday and those that are less obvious and nuanced, sometimes even the subject of taboos, but just as central to the creative profession.
DesignMind is conceived as a practical school that teaches design through the peculiar lens of design, referring more to the spirit and attitude that pervades and underlies the design culture than to the product in the strict sense. A school as it was understood in ages both remote and close at the same time, reminiscent of the Athenian model, based on real and tangible experiences, on living exchange with teachers, the local community and students.
From this vision, the first land application of DesignMind was born in 2023: "This land is your land," a name that makes explicit the summer school's vocation to make a real, visible and effective impact on a specific territory, beyond the formulas and abstract commitments that often accompany statements of commitment to the Planet. The students hosted at Castellania Coppi in the Tortonese Hills were involved in dense work and followed by an unprecedented pool of teachers including a team of established designers, professionals afferent to the world of design (designers, journalists, photographers, musicians, storytellers) counselors and psychologists.
Therefore, in addition to the work on the project, there is a way to talk about and explore issues implicit in the designer's life and generally not addressed in any school, and which here instead will be the subject of real face-to-face lectures: the management of failure; the opportunity hidden in the error; copying; money and economic demand; the construction of the idea; the method; and the search for one's own design path. The dense days are composed of moments at different speeds: work and study, but also discovering the local area, meeting with coaches, informal chats with designers and all the faculty, who
are always available. The food and local specialties. Experiences that become part of the tools of the participants' cultural and practical background, in a formula that keeps work and pleasure, happily united.
