Located in the French city of Compiègne, 45 minutes from Paris, the University of Technology of Compiegne (UTC) is a public scientific, cultural and professional institute and was founded in 1972 by the French Government. The UTC has great international visibility and reputation. Its mission is to enable students to understand and control the interactions between technology and humanity, to evolve in a global environment, managing innovative projects both in industrial sectors and in research contexts. UTC campuses are located in various areas of Compiègne and make an integral part of the city - the student population is 12% of all the inhabitants of Compiègne. This has led to a dynamic, associative and cultural student life that shows great diversity. The institution has over than 100 cultural and sports associations as well as a large number of cultural projects in the city and its regional surroundings. UTC students actively participate in the life of Compiègne, strengthening the link with local authorities and bringing science to the heart of the city.
