
The Eberdhard Karls Universitaet Tuebingen, founded in 1477, is based on more than five centuries of tradition and offers a variety of courses in different faculties, combining traditional disciplines with modern and ambitious fields of research.Is one of the most important universities in the world and expressly supports common European values, such as freedom of research and of the academic world, freedom of expression, equality of all human beings and respect for human dignity, regardless of the origins of a person, from religion, social status, gender or sexual orientation. The University of Tübingen actively supports positive developments in society and peaceful coexistence, sustainable development and environmental protection. At the same time it is part of a dense network of international research collaborations that are continuously intensified and expanded, mainly by the University academics, who receive dedicated support for their international projects. Internationalization is a key element of the university, which, through numerous associations, welcomes students from all over the world. Among these, the "Studierenden-Initiative Internationales Tübingen" (StudIT) organizes many activities during the semester and during the orientation weeks with the aim of helping international students to settle in Tübingen and enjoy themselves during their semester or year abroad. Together with the General Council of Students (AStA) which is instead responsible for questions relating to students concerning musical, cultural and sports affairs. It promotes events and supports, even financially, student groups and projects.
