
Universitè de Lausanne (UNIL) was known as The Academy when it was founded in 1537. As the centuries passed, the number of faculties increased and diversified until, in 1890, the Academy received the name and status of a university. UNIL now offers a vast range of courses in both the human and natural sciences.organized in a three-year followed by three to four semesters leading to a Master’s degree, either by specialising in a specific domain, or by undertaking interdisciplinary studies.
