The University of Cantabria (UC) is the only public university in the autonomous region of Cantabria, in northern Spain. The UC is a young, medium-sized institution and has a wide offer of programmes at bachelor, master and doctoral level within the areas of Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, Engineering and Architecture. The main campus is in Las Llamas in Santander, although the UC has other centres spread in other parts of the city. The other campus is in Torrelavega, an urban centre 20 kilometres from Sandander. Internationalisation is one of the main focus at the University of Cantabria, where many programmes are offered in English. Cultural events, both within the UC and in town, as well as sports activities, contribute to an all-round experience. High level research, scientific transfer and dissemination are hallmarks of the institution, which has developed strong ties with companies and organisations, both in Spain and around the world.
