Founded in 1971, the Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban context of the medium-sized city of Frankfurt am Main, Hessen. It offers courses and programs that lead to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's, master's degrees in different areas of study. It has an international student community, with around 12,000 students from over 100 countries. It is divided into four faculties: architecture and civil engineering; IT and engineering; Business and law; and social work and health. The training offer is practice-oriented and guarantees a high academic level, opening the door to various interesting professions. For this reason, teaching takes place not only within a classroom, but also in laboratories and through the implementation of application-oriented projects. Internationally, it has developed partnerships with 200 universities worldwide. Being a university of applied sciences, applied research and development (R&D) are a fundamental mission. Therefore, university research and development projects are driven by innovation and focused on application in professional practice. The main fields that are investigated are: demographic change, renewable energies and mobility and logistics that are undergoing significant changes.
