Founded in 1969 in Lisbon, the Instituto de Artes Visuais, Design and Marketing (IADE) is a pioneer in the teaching of design in Portugal, and is currently, the institution that forms the largest number of students in this field, with a rate of occupancy of 97%. IADE is a laboratory of creativity, talent and leadership that encourages students to test their talents, to believe in themselves, with the aim of allowing them to be fulfilled in their personal lives and in their future professional integration. Today IADE is a reference in teaching creativity. It is also one of the best design schools in Europe and a pioneer in marketing, advertising and photography. In 2017 - For the third year, IADE was ranked among the top 50 design schools in Europe in the Domus ranking. It stands out for its capacity for innovation and its differentiated academic model, based on the principles of quality, internationalization and proximity to companies and the labor market. It aims to prepare its students to become global professionals of the future, with all the skills necessary to achieve professional success anywhere in the world. Students experience the company reality already during their studies, through the development of real projects in response to the challenges posed by companies, laboratory practice and immediate application of the acquired skills as a way to respond to a problem or a real challenge. The Campus has a privileged location in central Lisbon with a breathtaking view of the Tagus River, offering students a creative and stimulating environment. Inside there are study areas and common areas that aim to stimulate group work and encourage university integration and numerous services such as laboratories, libraries and a copy center.
