Founded in 1971, the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) is a public non-profit institution located in the urban context of the large city of Giessen, Hesse. This institution also has secondary offices in the following locations: Friedberg, Wetzlar. It offers courses and programs that lead to officially recognized degrees of higher education as degrees, master's degrees, degrees in various fields of study. One of the fundamental aspects of the university is the possibility of developing an application-oriented learning. For this reason the degree courses include numerous practical laboratory sessions and field trips, as well as the opportunity for students to work on departmental projects and their own projects. Within the Campus, numerous services are offered to students, especially for those who love sports. The "THM Hochschulsport" offers more than 50 different sports programs with different disciplines, including for example zumba, soccer and gym courses. During the warmer months numerous water sports are practiced in the swimming pools provided by THM. As for the catering, one of the cafeterias of the "Studentenwerk Giessen", located on the campus, offer a service for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering a varied offer and at a great price.
