UHasselt is made up of more than seven faculties, four research institutes, three research centers, 6,500 students and 1,400 researchers and collaborators. The headquarters of the University of Hasselt is located in the old prison (Oude Gevangenis) on the Hasselt campus. This building on Martelarenlaan in Hasselt is the first place where one enrolls for the first time at the university and for all contacts with the student administration as a student. Student administration services and facilities for students, teachers and secretarial staff can of course be contacted in building D (block D) of the Diepenbeek Campus. The teaching for the law school program is mainly held on the Hasselt city campus. Students on other programs usually attend classes (in various buildings) in the Diepenbeek Campus. Students can move around by public transport between the two campuses. The architecture program teaches how to design, research and plan the area. No theoretical training is given: studying architecture at UHasselt it means working with your own hands in a practical way, using models, colors and shape studies.
