Ghent University is one of the 100 best universities in Belgium. The 11 faculties offer a wide range of courses and conduct extensive research in a wide range of scientific fields. The institute is also the first European university on the Songdo Global University Campus in South Korea. It is possible to rent a room provided by Ghent University or a room by a private owner but there are several application procedures for erasmus students and doctoral students. Prices and locations are variable. All information is available on the Housing Office website. Prices for a room rent from a private individual instead vary between ¿ 300 and ¿ 490 per month depending on the area and type of accommodation. Ghent University does not have a single campus. University buildings are distributed throughout the city. The most popular way (and recommended) to move to Ghent is by bicycle. The official language of teaching at Ghent University is as follows: Dutch. However, a number of master's courses are taught in English. If you are not familiar with the English or Dutch language, you can contact the University Language Center (UCT) for a wide range of language courses, both in English and in Dutch. Ghent University boasts a fully equipped sports center, with three large indoor activity halls, a dojo (one room in particular designed for martial arts), two conference rooms, a 25 m swimming pool, an instruction pool, two saunas, etc. The university also offers individual support services and advice for students who are actively involved in high-level activities sports. Particular attention is also paid to sports for the disabled. There are cultural groups (a theater group that also plays in other languages, photography class, painting class, orchestras, .....), working groups on social issues, scientific issues, political and philosophical groups, political and philosophy groups, international student associations, an administrative council for students living in the Kantienberg House.
