
The Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena, founded in 1558 and named after Friedrich Schiller is a German university located in Jena in Thuringia. The "small city" of Jena is synonymous with a mix of long-standing tradition and a clear far-sighted attitude: culture and high technology, internationality, vivacity and leisure is also oriented towards the future thanks to the numerous international groups, SMEs or start-ups , high-tech companies, small commercial companies or IT service providers. The university is composed of 10 faculties: Theology, Jurisprudence, Economics, Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry and Earth Sciences, Biology and Pharmacy, Medicine, each of which includes various institutes for a total of 113 degree courses.
