ESAP

The Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP) has an institutional affiliation with the Cooperative de Ensino Superior Artístico do Porto (CESAP), a non-profit public entity, founded in May 1982. Its position in the historic center of Porto has contributed to a significant interaction with the local community and the urban environment in which it is inserted. ESAP is one of UNESCO's member schools and has established various national and international protocols with universities and other artistic and cultural institutions. The teachings practiced here are in line with contemporary artistic and architectural production. Through an interdisciplinary practice, students build their referential field, in a space of confrontation, in which different experiences and multiple theoretical-practical perspectives intersect. ESAP encourages research and meetings between national and international artists, theorists, researchers, curators or other professionals, both inside and outside the institution, and its current value is manifested. The place that ESAP occupies in the territory of the arts and architecture is manifested in the growing recognition of its partners.
