Founded in 1780, the National School of Arts and Crafts (ENSAM) is a public scientific, cultural and professional institution, and one among the oldest and most prestigious engineering schools in France. It has been consistently ranked among the top ten French engineering schools and was ranked 5th in France for Mechanical Engineering in the Shanghai ranking 2018. With eight campuses and three institutes spread throughout France, the ENSAM has strategic proximity to industry, which allows it to align the content of training programmes with the needs of businesses. The ENSAM offers bachelor and master degrees as well as doctoral programmes in several fields such as Mathematics and Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanics, Management and Administration, Industrial and Structural Engineering, Economics and Social Sciences, Materials Science, Programming, Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics. The research teams are engaged in five major strategic areas including transport, energy, health, housing and manufacturing, further divided into development sub-areas such as digital engineering, biomechanical design, thermal energy and robotics. Many activities (festive, cultural, solidarity, associative or sporting events) are proposed to the students, who can thus be involved in motivating projects, develop skills and enrich their personal network.
