The École Spéciale d’Architecture (ESA) is an architecture school founded in 1865, recognized as a public-interest institution in 1870 and by the French state in 1934. It has been a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles since 2010 and is the only Grande École exclusively dedicated to architecture and urban studies. Currently, ESA operates across two locations: its main campus in Paris and a second site in Troyes. It shares its campus with the École Camondo, already a partner of Politecnico di Milano for the School of Design. The School has a strong international focus, with 40% of its students coming from abroad, active exchange programmes in Europe and beyond, and an extensive network of collaborations with architecture firms at both national and international levels.
