CHINA ACADEMY OF ART

China Academy of Arts (CAA), founded in 1928 as the first art academy with complete academic programs in China, is located in Hangzhou, the economic, cultural and scientific capital of the Zheijang province and one of the central cities on the Yangzhou River delta. With rich history and cultural heritage, it is the crossing point of the extension of the Silk Road Economic Belt. With a mission to revitalize Chinese art, CAA is in active dialogue with the world and has great influence in the development of modern and contemporary art in China. CAA has developed its unique multiple academic structure including programmes considered among the most important in the country in the field. The School of Design embraces the concepts of modern design theory, emphasizing the combination of art and technology, of talent and innovation, of creativity and economy, trying to construct the eastern design with Chinese characteristics. It seeks to cultivate the international market, providing high-end design talents in the various contemporary design professions.The departments within the school are: Visual Communication, Fashion and Textile Design, Industrial Design, Comprehensive Design, and Design Theory.
