Certificates on stamped paper and self-certifications

1. Certificates

How to request a certificate with stamp duty (in Italian and in English).

Through Online Services (for students of Leonardo and Bovisa Campuses)

If you are a student of the Leonardo and Bovisa campuses, the request for certificates with stamp-duty can be made exclusively online.

Access the Online Services and select, in the "Data" section, the "Request for certificates and Self-certifications" function. You can choose to collect the certificate at the Politecnico or request a home delivery. In the first case, only the payment of the stamp duty is required; in the second one, also the payment of shipping costs. Payment is made, in both cases, online by credit card. The certificate will be issued within a maximum of 2 working days (to which delivery time must be added, for students who have chosen home delivery).

If you have chosen to collect the certificate at the Politecnico, you must go from Monday to Friday with an original valid identity document at:

  • Leonardo Campus - Porter's lodge of the building 22, in via Golgi 42 (8.00 am to 8.00 pm)
  • Bovisa Campus - Porter's lodge of the building B12, in via La Masa 34 (8.00 am to 7.45 pm)

Document photocopies are not allowed.

If you cannot go in person to the Registrar's Office, you may delegate a trustworthy person that must bring with him/her the following documents: a copy of the student's identity document; his/her own identity document; a declaration with authorization undersigned by the student for whom the certificate is requested. The form to delegate a person can be downloaded in the section Forms.

Online or in person (for students of the Campuses)

If you are a student of one of the Campuses, you can apply for the certificates with stamp duty online or in person at the Campus Registrar's Office: please remember to bring a stamp duty of € 16.00 to be put on the application form (which will be provided at the desk) and a stamp duty of € 16.00 for each certificate requested.

For example, if you make request for 2 certificates, it is necessary to have 3 stamp duties: 1 stamp duty to be attached to the request form and 1 stamp duty for each certificate required.

If you cannot go in person to the Registrar's Office, you may delegate a trustworthy person that must bring with him/her the form, the stamps and the following documents: a copy of the student's identity document for which the certificate is requested; his/her own identity document; a declaration with authorization undersigned by the student for whom the certificate is requested. The form to delegate a person can be downloaded in the section Forms.

2. Self-certifications

If you need a self-certification (or substitutive declaration of certification) about your status and university career, you can also:

  • create the self-certification through the Online Services > Data > Certificate and self certification request
  • fill in the form that you find in the section Forms of this Web site (under "Substitute declaration of certification")

Legislation on self-certifications

According to the consolidated text of the regulation on administrative documents (Presidential Decree n. 445 of 28th December 2000), it is possible to submit to administrations or to public bodies self-certifications or substitutive declarations of certifications without the need to subsequently submit the certificate. The public administration is required to accept, reserving the right to check and verify the truth of their contents.

You can submit a self-certification for enrollment in registers or lists of the public administration and to certify your study qualification, the exams passed, the status of student. In these cases, the signature must be authenticated and declarations can only be used with public administrations.
