Description of the initiative
The Course
In this course, students will have the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge of scientific communication they have previously acquired.
Depending on their field of specialization, participants will be divided into groups of 2-4 people. Each group will be paired with another group with a different specialization, and the two groups will interview each other, allowing everyone to step into the shoes of both the expert and the general audience. Course participants will record these interviews and use them to produce a short informative podcast (maximum 10 minutes).
The podcast format has been chosen for two reasons. First, currently, there are 16 million Italians who listen to podcasts, and most of them use them to get informed and delve into topics they are interested in. Second, producing a podcast has a low entry barrier (especially compared to video), allowing anyone to create ready-to-distribute content without significant expenses. The episodes produced by each group will then be shared among all course participants, who will be invited to listen to and evaluate them. Finally, some works will be shared and discussed during a concluding meeting.
