Prerequisites

The design activity requires the ability to: carry out field research (interviews and surveys or other research methods), integrate field research with secondary research (texts, documents, data, trend reports, etc.), and translate the research into visions and design scenarios. Furthermore, the required concepts will be focused on the implementation of a strategy consisting of services and communication plan, therefore good visualization and design skills are required.

Selection Criteria
  • For students LM in the Design School: portfolio with max 5 projects, motivational letter including skills acquired (soft & hard skills) and Declaration of Assignment of Intellectual property rights of the project (attached in the Passion in Action).
  • For students LM in Management Engineering: CV, motivational letter including competences acquired (soft & hard skills) and Declaration of Assignment of Intellectual property rights of the project (attached in the Passion in Action).

Description of the initiative

The activity involves designing new concepts of services and communication strategies related to Nespresso products (a company offering solutions for coffee consumption and preparation) aimed at 'Gen Z'. The 30 students involved, divided into 6 groups, will have to carry out the design through
  • the launch of the activity with intervention by the Nespresso company;
  • analysis, through qualitative and quantitative data collection, of the consumption habits, attitudes and values of the users (politecnico's students) and trends;
  • data feedback and identification of needs and areas for intervention;
  • weekly reviews;
  • presentation of each group's design concept to the Nespresso company.
