National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles

Il Politecnico di Milano adheres to M'illumino di Meno

Today, 16th February 2023, takes place M’illumino di Meno, the National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles. Launched in 2005 by the Italian RAI Radio 2/Caterpillar programme, it has registered over the years an increasing adhesion among citizens and institutions on the national territory, with the growing awareness that reducing CO2 emissions also depends on the behaviour of each of us.

The RUS – the first network for sustainable development of the italian universities - is also promoting the initiative, inviting to organise events on the occasion.

In this context, the Politecnico di Milano, also in relation to the commitments made with the Piano di Mitigazione and the Piano Spostamenti Casa Lavoro for the reduction of its carbon footprint, adheres to the 2023 edition by switching off, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the lighting on the façade of the Rectorate (building 1, Piazza Leonardo da Vinci)

The National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles is also an opportunity to remind us the importance of adopting attentive behaviours to avoid wasting energy and resources throughout the year. Among these, some behaviours are also set out in the Decalogue of M'illumino di Meno.

Let's do our part to reduce energy consumption!
