Description of the initiative
The day-long workshop promoted by Fondazione Housing Sociale, Fondazione Ordine degli Architetti Provincia di Milano, Spazio Aperto Servizi, Confindustria Assoimmobiliare and Ordine degli Architetti Milano poses at the basis of the workshop a question: how do young people inhabit an area and how would they like to inhabit it in reference to their aspirations and life prospects and in relation to the transformations of the economy and the world of work?
The "Abitare Fluido" workshop is a project that aims to bring out, from a qualitative-quantitative point of view, the critical issues, imagery and expectations that young people in Milan have in reference to the housing dimension. Milan, like other large cities, is facing a series of phenomena that are exacerbating the polarization between social classes going to affect especially the most vulnerable groups, including youth. In this project, young people represent the privileged interlocutor to develop guidelines in reference to public policy interventions on housing to be submitted to the attention of policymakers. Participating in the workshop will be Tommaso Vitale, professor of Sociology in the Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po); Loris Servillo, Interateneo Department of Science, Planning and Territorial Policies, Politecnico di Torino; Silvia Cafora, Department of Architecture and Design, Politecnico di Torino. The day-long workshop that I will start at 9 a.m. will be divided into two separate times, morning and afternoon, so it is also possible to attend just the morning or just the afternoon (of course, it is also possible to attend both).
