Description of the initiative
The course will introduce students to the purposes, structure and history of Wikipedia, aiming in particular at the writing of Wikipedia articles. This will be achieved partly through the delivery of introductory lectures on the characteristics and requirements of a Wikipedia entry, partly by supervised activities whereby the students will write or translate articles on technical or scientific topics. The course will be in cooperation with tutors from Wikimedia Italia. The students' work will be evaluated by the teacher and the tutors, on the basis of their contributions to Wikipedia.

Calendar
L'iniziativa si svolgerà indicativamente dal mese di aprile 2019 come da calendario sotto riportato.
- Venerdì 5 Aprile 2019 e Venerdì 12 Aprile 2019 dalle ore 14.15 alle ore 18.15 (Aula D.3.2 - Edificio 25) : due mezze giornate (4 ore) di lezione teorica (principi generali e struttura di un articolo di Wikipedia, scelta e uso delle fonti, punto di vista neutrale, ecc.) ed esercitazione pratica in aula (su computer portatili) con due docenti/tutor di Wikimedia Italia. Suddivisione in gruppi (2-3 persone) e scelta delle voci di Wikipedia da editare (stubs su argomenti tecnico-scientifici).
- 15 aprile - 11 maggio: lavoro autonomo sulle voci di Wikipedia, sotto la supervisione di due tutor on-line di Wikimedia Italia (due cicli di revisione intermedia di ciascun articolo).
- Venerdì 17 Maggio 2019 dalle ore 15.15 alle ore 19.15 (Aula 5.0.2 - Edificio 5) : mezza giornata (4 ore) di revisione finale (anche revisione incrociata tra gruppi) e pubblicazione on-line degli articoli.
