We propose to students a simulation of investment that resembles the functioning of a generic trading app. The objective is twofold: i) to study whether and to what extent a participatory approach to the subject can be in itself a tool that enhances financial knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors; ii) to evaluate whether interactive learning can be the right platform to educate individuals about investing in a more informed manner. Regarding the tools, the project includes two types of interventions, both online, to be implemented within a controlled randomized study (RCT) framework: an investment simulation (fully programmed by us and accessible through a link) and two questionnaires (to be conducted before and after the simulation). The completion of the activity depends on the group to which the student is assigned: if in the control group, completing only the questionnaires is required, whereas in the experimental group, participation in the simulation is also necessary.
