Description of the initiative

The goal of this activity is to offer a practical approach to the circuits and basic concepts of analog signal processing, presented for example in the introductory Electronics courses, in particular for those sections where experimental laboratories are not included. The activity is based on the Texas Instruments Analog System Lab Pro training board (of which we received a donation of 40 boards, equal to the number of seats in the Golgi labs G01 and G02). The operation of several analog circuits (amplifiers, filters, multipliers) and of ADC and DAC converters will be tested. The activity is divided into four 3-hour meetings. The first introductory meeting presents the board and the laboratory instrumentation that will be used, with an outline of the circuit simulation for those wishing to learn more at home. In the second and third meetings, different circuits will be tested. The last meeting is open to students' experimentation curiosity, invited to propose experiments and to use the PC sound card for the generation and acquisition of analog signals.
