Description of the initiative
This course aims to teach the basics of programming in Python. It will cover the fundamentals of how to construct a program from a series of simple instructions in Python. Without the need for prior computer knowledge, participants will be able to master the materials of this course. The goal is to demonstrate how the basics of procedural programming and data structures embedded in Python, such as lists, dictionaries, and tuples, enable increasingly complex data analysis. Examples of problems addressed might include estimating Pi using statistical methods or solving linear systems. This course will also introduce students to libraries for visualization or creating animations. The activity, spread between March and May, will include classroom lessons and lessons via Webex. Only a certificate of attendance will be given to those who participate.
