Description of the initiative

The proposed activity is about a study trip to the city of Lecce, conceived within the activities of two urban planning laboratories pertaining respectively to the Degree in Urbanistica: Città Ambiente Paesaggio, led by Federico Zanfi and Cristina Renzoni, and to the Degree in Progettazione dell'Architettura, led by Francesco Curci and Paola Savoldi.

The study trip will aim to investigate the city of Lecce and its territory through individual and collective explorations with the aim of increasing the capacity for observation and critical interpretation of socio-spatial phenomena and environmental problems that characterize the contexts observed. Fieldwork will allow groups of students to test themselves in front of concrete places and problems, interacting with local stakeholders and actors who will contribute to enriching the work program, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lecce.

The activity will consist of site inspections spread over several days which will explore the different contexts analyzed within the work of the two laboratories - districts of the consolidated city (9-10 March) and public districts (14-15 April) - and which will include discussions with administrators, scholars, and local experts.
