The housing environment in Milan is facing a crucial and pressing challenge regarding rental costs, which have reached levels unsustainable for most of the population. The unstoppable growth in rental prices has made it increasingly difficult for students, young professionals and families to find adequate and accessible housing solutions. This situation is having a significant impact on life quality of the city. In this complex scenario, the figure of the designer plays a fundamental role in the rethinking of the conditions and quality of life, developing innovative hypotheses and/or solutions that are out of the box of traditional thoughts.   Request for a critical interpretation in a design key:  With this call, we invite students to seize this opportunity to highlight the importance of the designer as a catalyst of social change, developing innovative projects that can address this problem in original and effective key. Design, therefore, becomes a tool able to shape the future of the city, improving the quality of life and contributing to the well-being of all its inhabitants. Students are urged to use all tools and means to rethink a collective well-being linked to new ways of life, so the appeal is open to all the courses of the school of design. The required elaborations are free and creative projects, but some essential specifications must be considered that concern the type of output and that are indicated in this notice.
