Description

Today's market expresses a strong demand for managers who combine operations skills with analytical knowledge on issues of capital budgeting, treasury management, financing research, financial risk management, valuation, and even the most complex financial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions. Finance skills are particularly useful in day-to-day dealings with banks aimed at managing working assets in the short term and financing major investments in the long term. Every business project must measure itself against aspects involving cash balance, measuring economic value, quantifying (and mitigating) risk in its various facets, and identifying sources of financing. Accompanying these skills to one's professional background is therefore an easily expendable advantage in the job market. The Executive Program in Finance is a POLIMI GSoM program structured on corporate finance topics, a course "for engineers and non-engineers," with a strongly practical slant and a technical and quantitative approach, suitable for those who intend to face the complex challenges of the corporate world.

Educational project

The objective of the course is to cover the fundamental aspects affecting the management of financial resources within the enterprise. Specially, three are essentially the areas addressed: - Financial planning through the proper representation and estimation of the firm's financial needs and risks. - Evaluation of capital and individual business investments and projects. - Capital raising, which takes the form of both the relationship with banks and the issuance and placement of securities on the market, up to more complex financial transactions (extraordinary finance)."
