The Ph.D. programme in Information Technology, hosted at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB), accounts for about 20% of the Ph.D. students of the Politecnico di Milano. It offers advanced education and research in computer science and engineering, electronics, systems and control, and telecommunications. Its research lines—of major scientific, industrial, and societal relevance—include artificial intelligence, robotics, electronic devices, complex systems, and communication networks. Strong collaborations with industry and leading international research institutions provide candidates with exposure to high-level scientific environments and an innovation-driven mindset. Combining specialized courses and independent study, the program trains Ph.D. researchers capable of advancing technological and digital progress in academic and industrial fields.
