European Projects

Politecnico di Milano is actively engaged in several research programs provided by the European Commission. Politecnico’s research activity has a particular focus on EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation, one of the most important funding schemes in matters of science and innovation.

From 2007 until now, in the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation, Politecnico has obtained excellent results in the prestigious ERC and MSCA subprograms.

ERC (EUROPEAN RESEARCH COUNCIL)

70 ERC grants have been obtained by Politecnico di Milano, including:

  • 65 as Host Institution
  • 5 as Partner

The University organizes the MSCA PF Master Class is organized to support young researchers in the submission of competitive proposals.

Politecnico di Milano is the first University in Italy and the fifth in Europe for the number of funded Horizon Europe projects (Cordis, January 2024).
