"His scientific research activity has been in the field of the design, construction, monitoring and maintenance of bridges and infrastructures. In recognition of the contributions made by his research he was appointed vice president of IABMAS - International Association of Bridge Maintenance and Safety, and president of IABMAS Italy. In 2014 he was awarded the T.Y. Lin Medal.
The Medal is awarded every 4 years to members of the International Association of Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS) who, through their work in the field of bridge maintenance and safety, have made significant contributions to the scientific fundamentals of bridge engineering.
He has received other recognitions and prizes for his technical-scientific work, including: the Ambrogino d'oro for the final Design of the Structures and their Quality Control during the construction phase of the ‘La Grande Scala’ theatre for the municipality of Milan. His extensive planning experience in the bridges and large structures sector has been accompanied with both significant publicity and didactic and dissemination activities."
