"Professor Pietro De PoI was appointed Full Professor of Electrical Industrial Systems in this faculty in 1 February 1957, then of Electrical Systems II in 1961, having been an assistant in the faculty first for Politecnico and then with a state role since 1930.

He therefore worked at Politecnico di Milano for over 50 years, 24 of which he was in permanent and non-permanent roles, with a particular sense of dedication to the institution and a great commitment to his own teaching, holding various positions and with particular skill in experimental work, honed by his depth of experience of laboratory work in the sector, at times of rapid scientific and technological development. He then directed the Carlo Erba Institute of Industrial Electrotechnics from 1965 to 1972 and worked extensively in scientific-technical associations, in particular the Italian Electrotechnical Association and the Graduates Association of Politecnico di Milano, an activity that still continues."
