Honorary professor of Politecnico di Milano

 

"She was full professor of Urban Planning at the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, where she taught on the Bachelor’s degree programmes in both Architecture and Urban Planning and Policy Design. She has taught in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence, at the University of Rome La Sapienza, at the University of Geneva and at the Academy of Architecture at USI Mendrisio. She was Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. She has held important roles at the university as director of the Department of Architecture and Planning, coordinator of the PhD in Urban Projects and Policies and director of the School of Specialization in Territorial and Environmental Planning.

She has carried out intensive research on urban planning and in particular on urban planning techniques. In particular, research applied to tangible design opportunities, such as the works for the Municipality of Bologna and the Metropolitan City of Bologna, the regional development plan of Emilia Romagna and the municipalities of Jesi and Modena.

She is extraordinarily committed to the promotion of urban planning culture: key-note speaker at national and international conferences and congresses; head of the RAPU (Urban Planning Archives Network) Laboratory at the Politecnico di Milano; editor and later director of the leading sector magazine, Urbanistica, she also founded and directed a new online magazine in English Planum.
